I hope you are enjoying reading my blogs so far. But before I can get into the topic of today's blog, let me explain how it came about. I do most of my writing in my home office on the computer facing my window. The view and the way the light shines in the room creates the perfect atmosphere for writing. I was trying to figure out what to write about, then all of a sudden I heard “Bzzz… Bzzz…” It was a huge fly in the window. I ignored it and figured I’d deal with it later. “Bzzz… Bzzz…” The noise was too distracting.

So I got up with the intention to raise the blinds and open the window to let the fly out. But when I pulled the string to raise the blinds, the entire thing came down. The blinds fell off the hinges. I grabbed this spray water bottle that was nearby to spray the fly. Then the fly disappeared. As I tried to put the blinds back up, I saw the fly again. As I reached to grab the spray bottle, the blinds fell again. Then the fly disappeared again. Now I’m really frustrated. As I replayed the whole thing in my head all I could do is laugh. “All of this over a daggone fly!” LOL. So now I have something to write about. We’ll call it “Laugh at Your Pain”. As I sat to finish this blog I hear, “Bzzz… Bzzz…” SMH

WHEN WILL RACISM END?

There has been a lot of media attention surrounding the Trayvon Martin case. This case is still being investigated, but I want to address an issue that I believe will help us all. An issue that I believe caused all of this to happen. But before I get into what that is, I heard someone say, “It’s ridiculous that we’re still facing racial injustice. It’s 2012!” I understood what this person meant, but the truth of the matter is – racism will always exist. Of course, we can improve as a country. Yes, we can grow more in unity. Actually, we’re living the dream that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had. However, racism will never be eradicated. Why? As long as the devil exists, racism will exist in this world. He will always attack us with the spirit of separation and division.

DON’T LOOK WITH YOUR EYES.

In a perfect world, everyone would be Christians and doing what God wants us to do. But we don’t live in a perfect world. So the only thing we can do is bring awareness to how God wants us to live. By doing this, it will help reduce racism and division in our world. Therefore, the purpose of this blog is not to be controversial. It is designed to attack an area that we’ve all been guilty of in one form or another. And that is – JUDGING. There are two types of judging – Misjudging and Righteous judging. What is misjudging? It is when you form an opinion by weighing the outward appearance. The world’s system is based on this type of judging.

“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Don’t judge by his appearance…The LORD doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’” 1 Samuel 16:7 NLT

You can’t be like the world and judge things by what it looks like on the outside. In other words, don’t get upset at the guy who is racist, when you’re doing the same thing. No, you may not be judging someone’s race, but you’re living by those same standards. You look at people who have wealth and possessions as important, and you’ll walk over the homeless as if they’re nobodies. You’ll turn your nose up at those with a negative past, and you’ll respect the one who appears to have it all together. You think he's too old to do that or she's too young to understand. God judges things different. God doesn’t look at the outward appearance, but He looks at the heart or the spirit.

“Consequently, from now on we estimate and regard no one from a [purely] human point of view [in terms of natural standards of value]…” 2 Corinthians 5:16 AMP

To make this world a better place, as Believers, you should choose not to operate under the world’s standards. You can’t judge people according to their flesh or outward appearance. You can’t evaluate people by what it looks like.

“You are looking only at what appears on the surface of things…” 2 Corinthians 10:7 NIRV

RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT

As a child of God, you must now operate under God’s standard of judgment. You must judge people according to the spirit. You must evaluate people according to the Word. You must become sensitive to the voice of God. Jesus said:

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” John 7:24

Jesus calls God’s standard of judging “Righteous Judgment". Righteous Judgment is the ability to make responsible decisions. It’s being able to discern wisely. It’s when you’re marked by wisdom and prudence. It’s having and showing discretion in your conduct and in speech, so you’ll know what to say and do at the appropriate time.

“You [set yourselves up to] judge according to the flesh (by what you see). [You condemn by external, human standards.] I (Jesus) do not [set Myself up to] judge or condemn or sentence anyone. Yet even if I do judge, My judgment is true [My decision is right]; for I am not alone [in making it], but [there are two of Us] I and the Father, Who sent Me.” John 8:15-16 AMP

Stop judging the way the world does or you’ll be just as guilty as they are. Your judgment should come from God. Your judgment should come from wisdom. Regardless of what it looks like, sounds like, or seems like, you need to walk by faith.

“For we walk by faith…not by sight or appearance.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP

You need Righteous Judgment to make career decisions. You need Righteous Judgment to find a spouse. You need Righteous Judgment to raise your children. You need Righteous Judgment to choose your friends.

WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPLE THING…SO GET SOME.

How do you develop this Righteous Judgment? You can begin by asking God for it.

“If any of you need to be wise, ask God to make you wise. He gives plenty of wisdom to all people. He is not angry because you ask Him. He will make you wise.” James 1:5 WE

God will mark you with His wisdom if you ask Him. Just pray and ask Him, then He will begin to teach you. Another way to develop this Righteous Judgment is to study God’s Word. Gain as much information as you can. Seek God’s knowledge, because Righteous Judgment is using God’s knowledge at the appropriate time. Develop yourself in the knowledge of God’s Word and He will begin to speak to you.

“For He instructs him in right judgment, his God teaches him.” Isaiah 28:26

Dont Wait for the Provision BEFORE You Start!

Most of us like to see the provision BEFORE we start. But FAITH doesn't work like that. When God gives you the VISION, you need to take ACTION, then God will MANIFEST the provision that you need.

Quit waiting for everything to be PERFECT. You don't need to be GREAT to start, but you need to START at being great. LET'S GO!

Writing for a CHANGE.

God had been preparing me all along. I accepted my calling back in 2000. I'm called to 'teach' His Word. Once I received that calling, I've been fulfilling His plan for my life. Not long after I received my calling to teach, God instructed me to start writing Newsletters. So that's what I did. All I had was a computer, printer paper, and some envelopes. So I started writing. It didn't look professional at all. The envolopes were plain and the addresses were handwritten with a pen. I wrote what I felt that God was telling me. I did a lot of writing. However, I never got any responses. Whether it was helping people or not, I just kept writing. I was obeying God. I was doing what He instructed me to do.

"Obey God's message! Don't fool yourselves by just listening to it." ~ James 1:22 CEV

Then after some time went by, I finally started getting feedback. Writing is like exercising. The more you write, the better you get. I learned through my writing stages how to connect with people. You see, many people 'communicate', but very few actually 'connect'. The Newsletter helped me to really connect with people. I had no idea that God was preparing me to write a best-selling book, "Life in Righteousness". Nobody wants to buy a book to see how smart you are. People want to buy books that will make them smart. They buy books that show them how to be healthier, wealthier, and wiser. They buy books that will increase their relationship with God; with their spouse; with their children; with their job. People want to really experience 'change', so this is what they invest in.

What are you writing about? Does the information you provide improve the lives of others or do they just improve your reputation? Are you writing to build up character or to build up your resume? The answer determines if you'll have a best-seller.

Don't STOP at the START.

Over 10 years ago, God gave me a revelation that changed my Life. And that was just a piece of the puzzle. In 2001, God gave me the full picture to the revelation. Not long after that, I knew in my heart that I was to write a book about it. I was torn between - Should I get a Publisher or Should I Self-Publish. After much prayer, thought, and wise counsel, the answer was - Self-Publish.

If I was to write only one book, then I might would go for the Publisher. But as of now, I have almost 40 book ideas. So it's best that I self-publish and start a publishing company. And our first book would be called "LIFE IN RIGHTEOUSNESS: The Word is Your Life"So that's what I did.

Wait, that's not exactly correct. That's not what I 'did', that's what I 'said'. I talked about it, but I wasn't taking any action. I procrastinated for years. Yes, I continued to talk about it, it was still in my head, but I wasn't moving. The reason that I procrastinated is because I was scared. I was afraid. I constantly had thoughts of, "I've never published a book before...I don't know anything about writing a book...What if the book flop?...What if no one buys it?...What if I make a fool of myself?...etc." Therefore, I never got started. I STOPPED at the START. Have you ever stopped at the start? This is when you never start because of a fear of failure; a fear of rejection; a fear of making mistakes; a fear of looking foolish.

It was 2008 and I was still procrastinating. My mentor approached me and said, "God told me to tell you, 'IT'S TIME.' I don't know what He means, but I'm just telling you what He said..." My mentor didn't know, but I knew what God was referring to. However, I still procrastinated. Not long after that statement, some changes began to take place on my job. I was faced with the decision of quitting (even though I didn't have another job lined up) or take a tremendous pay cut and a demotion. After much prayer, God told me to leave. I personally didn't want to leave until I found another job first. But God said leave, so I left. People literally called me crazy. "What are you going to do?", was the most common question.

To make a long story short, I left. Now I had all of this free time. I said to myself, "Either go for it or don't go at all!" So I stepped out in faith and got started. And God, with all of His goodness, provided for me. And He continues to provide for me as I step out on my vision. God has PROVISION for the VISION.

"If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them." John 13:17

Why Not Sell a Million Copies?

My new book is titled “Life in Righteousness”. I wrote the book to change the lives of everyone who comes in contact with it. I have a goal to sell at least a million copies. A lady asked me once, “Why do you want to sell a million copies?” My response to her was “Why not?” If I was writing for social entertainment, then I wouldn’t need any more than 500 copies or so. But I’m not writing a book for social gatherings or to boost up my resume. I’m writing to change and improve lives. “Life in Righteousness” is a form of writing that will inject motivation straight to your soul. It’s like taking a dose of inspiration and encouragement. However, I could tell by this lady's body language and expression that my goal bothered her. She perceived my goal as having wrong motives. She felt that I had selfish reasons or desires. So because she didn’t understand the purpose of my goal, it offended her.

I have every right to want to sell over a million copies of my book “Life in Righteousness”. I own a publishing company called ‘Yarah Publishing’. What company do you know that’s in the business of selling, which does NOT want to sell their product? If you don’t sell your product, then you’re out of business. That alone would be a good enough reason to want to sell a million copies. But that’s not even the reason that I want to sell that many books.

Here’s the real reason why. Imagine if you had the cure for an incurable disease. Let’s say for example – cancer. How many people would you want to be healed from it? 10 people? 100 people? 1,000 people? You wouldn’t want to keep it for yourself. You would want everyone who had cancer to have access to this cure, whether it was a million people or a billion. “Yeah Billie, but if I had the cure for cancer, I would give it away for free…” That’s sounds deep, but not if it cost you to make it. You would have to use the money from sales to create even more of the medicine. That’s how most businesses operate.

Likewise, that’s how much I value the knowledge that’s inside my new book, “Life in Righteousness”. It’s the cure for living the common Christian life. It’s the cure for having church as usual. It’s the remedy for living a defeated Christian life. No more! I have the cure and I’m going to broadcast it to the world. I believe this book will take Christians to a higher level. Even if they’re already on top, it will take them even higher. Why am I so sure about this? “Life in Righteousness” is not a ‘good’ idea, but it’s a ‘God’ idea.
